Telangana Junior Doctors Warn of Indefinite Stir from June 24

Hyderabad: In continuation of their protests with black badges, the Telangana Junior Doctors Association (TJUDA) held a lunch-hour demonstration with blindfolds at various teaching hospitals across the state on Saturday.

“This protest is to highlight the government’s disregard for improving the health infrastructure,” the association said.

Junior doctors across the state have informed the government of their indefinite strike beginning June 24 in case their demands are not fulfilled. The demands include creation of a green channel that allows for timely payment of stipends to junior doctors; honorarium for superspeciality senior residents, removal of 15 per cent reservation of seats for Andhra Pradesh students in Telangana government medical colleges; lack of roads in Kakatiya Medical College and security issues, improvement in infrastructure and construction of new hostels in various government hospitals in the state.
