Telangana: Man Electrocuted During Bathukamma Fest

A man who was carrying a child died of electrocution after coming into contact with electric wires used for decorative lights put up for the Bathukamma celebrations in Alamkanipet, Nekkonda mandal of Warangal district.  Adilabad: A man who was carrying a child died of electrocution after coming into contact with electric wires used for decorative lights put up for the Bathukamma celebrations in Alamkanipet, Nekkonda mandal of Warangal district. The child survived the incident which occurred on Friday.

The accident occurred when Yadaiah, 45, was walking past the electric wires and appeared to have touched them. He falls to the ground, the child still in his arms. A video of the incident, captured on a car's dash camera, shows one of Yadaiah’s associates trying to pull him to safety and suffering an electric shock himself.

Another person then moves the wires away and the others quickly pull the child to safety. Yadaiah died later, according to the police. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
