Telangana: Man Injured in Knife Attack by Wife, Hospitalised
Khammam: A man was severely injured when his wife attacked him with a kitchen knife at Gollapudi of Wyra mandal on Friday morning.
The victim, Poralla Ravi, received injuries on his face, chest and stomach in the attack by his wife Lakshmi. Ravi was shifted to a private hospital at Khammam for treatment.
Speaking to media, Ravi said his wife attacked him all of a sudden when he asked her to give him her mobile phone. She cornered him in a room and stabbed him without hearing a request to calm down. He alleged that his wife tried to kill him, but he managed to escape from her.’
But, the version of his wife was different. Lakshmi told the police that her husband has been harassing her for last three years. Ravi came to the house on Friday morning in a drunken condition and picked up an argument with her. Unable to bear the harassment, she attacked her husband with a kitchen knife.
Ravi, who worked as a resource person in the education department, was suspended from the post for attending the duties in drunken condition last year. Lakshmi was working as a teacher in a private school at Wyra. Wyra police filed a case and took Lakshmi into custody.
