Telangana MLA’s letter seeking admission for 3 children in govt. school gets accolades
Hyderabad: The management of popular corporate and other private schools regularly receives recommendation letters from politicians, ministers, police and other government officials seeking admission to their children.
Depending upon the availability of seats and merit of the student, the management would take a final decision whether to grant admission to the child. But a recommendation letter written by the MLA and CPI Assembly floor leader Kunamneni Sambasiva Rao seeking admission to three children in a government high school in Kothagudem left everyone surprised.
In a letter addressed to the Government High School Principal at Medara Basthi in Kothagudem in erstwhile Khammam district, Rao sought admission for three children – one for class-VII while another for Class-VIII and one more for Class- V. He said the children already applied for the admission.
He said he was seeking admission for three children in their respective classes as their family was economically disadvantaged and urged the Principal to consider the plea and grant admission to them.
On coming to know about Rao’s initiative, several people appreciated him for helping children to pursue their studies. Forwarding a letter to the school principal on his official letterhead with a signature and stamp reflects the importance given by the MLA to the children’s education.
He set an example to other elected representatives in the State in helping poor children in whatever possible ways and enabling them to continue their studies.
