Telangana: Newly-Owned Flat Catches Fire, No Casualty

 Hyderabad: A major fire broke out in a flat on the eighth floor of a newly-constructed apartment building in Manikonda within the Narsingi police station limits at 7.45 am on Wednesday. However, no casualties were reported. Police and firefighters rushed to the spot on time to douse the flames. But, much of the fire was controlled by the residents with the help of fire extinguishers available in the apartment building.

According to Narsingi SI Muneedeer, the smoke coming out of a flat was first noticed by the owner while he was asleep in his room. The smoke was bellowing out from the pooja room as there was a house-warming ceremony just a day before.

After dialing 100, the Narsingi police, clue teams, and firefighters rushed to the spot. “The owner, who was in a state of shock, did not know exactly about the loss of property in the fire. But roughly, the interiors of the house worth Rs 24 lakh was gutted in the fire,” the SI said quoting the flat owner. A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
