Telangana: Pocharam Reservoir Gates Lifted Amid Heavy Rains

 Kamareddy: In view of heavy inflows from upstream areas, gates of Pocharam reservoir in Nagireddypet mandal were lifted on Sunday. Pocharam reservoir is located on the borders of Kamareddy and Medak districts. Officials alerted people in downstream villages during the flow of floodwater.

District collector Ashish Sangwan visited various mandala and Kamareddy municipality on Sunday and observed the flood situation. He directed officials to take necessary steps to prevent flood-related problems. Banswada sub collector Koppishetty Kirmayee visited the rain- affected areas.

Kamareddy DSP Nageshwer Rao and police regulated traffic on National Highway 44 due to washout of the approach road near Tekrial. Meanwhile, district officials stayed on high alert amid heavy rains in Kamareddy district.
