Telangana: Police Arrest 4 Ganja Peddlers, Seize 160 kg of Drugs

 Warangal: Police in Jayashankar Bhupalpally district on Monday nabbed four members of an inter-state ganja peddling gang, seizing 160 kg of ganja valued at Rs 40 lakh and a car.

District superintendent of police Kiran Khare identified the suspects as T. Madhava Rao (55) from East Godavari, B. Prasad (45) and Somarutakri (50) from Odisha, and M. Mosis (49) from Visakhapatnam. The gang was transporting and selling ganja, buying it at low prices from Babu Rao of Darakonda village, Gudem mandal, Alluri Sitaramaraju district.

The criminals packed the ganja into 75 small packets and tried to transport it illegally in a car. Acting on credible information, police conducted vehicle checks at Ravi Nagar in Bhupalpally town, where they discovered the ganja packets heading towards the town.

Superintendent Khare praised DSP A. Sampath Rao, CCS inspector N. Venkateshwarlu, CI D. Mallesh, CCS SI M. Sambamurthy, J. Ramesh, and R. Ashok for their diligent efforts in dismantling the inter-state ganja peddling network.
