Hyderabad: Telangana police filed an affidavit before the metropolitan magistrate court at Nampally opposing bail to Bhujanga Rao and Thirupathanna, the former police officers who had played a key role in the phone-tapping case during the BRS rule.

They submitted that if the two were released on bail, the investigation into the phone-tapping case could be adversely impacted as the accused may tamper the evidence and influence other witnesses.

Explaining the events leading to the case, the state police urged the court to reject the bail petitions filed by Bhujanga Rao and Thirupathanna.

The Nampally court adjourned the hearing in the bail petitions to Friday.
