Hyderabad: In a move to decentralise IT growth and establish a robust ecosystem across the state, the Government of Telangana on Wednesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with ITServe Alliance, one of the largest associations of IT companies in the United States.

This collaboration aims to generate 30,000 new jobs in Tier-II and Tier-III towns. The agreement also emphasises workforce development by fostering upskilling and reskilling initiatives to build a pool of industry-ready talent from within the local communities.

The MoU focuses on fostering establishment of IT and related industries in Mahbubnagar, Warangal, Karimnagar, Khammam, Nizamabad, and other emerging towns. ITServe Alliance will work with its network of member companies to drive growth in these towns.

The Telangana government has agreed to allocate land in Hyderabad’s Financial District for the construction of office buildings to be occupied by ITServe member companies, according to a release.

“We are committed to ensuring that Hyderabad’s IT success is replicated in tier II and III towns. We are focused on both skilling and reskilling the local workforce to make them industry-ready while bringing opportunities to their hometowns. This will help reduce migration to Hyderabad, which is expected to face space constraints in the coming years,” said IT minister D. Sridhar Babu.

IT special chief secretary Jayesh Ranjan, advisor to the IT minister Sai Krishna, IT department chief strategy officer, ITServe Alliance national president Jagadeesh Mosali and other representatives of ITServe Alliance were present.

“This MoU represents an exciting opportunity for ITServe member companies to expand their reach and contribute to the development of untapped talent in Tier-II and Tier-III towns,” said Mosali.
