Telangana: Student Scholarships Delayed, Youth Wing Protests
Hyderabad: The BC youth wing took out a rally from LB Nagar to Kothakota on Thursday, seeking payment of scholarships of students. The activists alleged that while bills worth thousands of crores of contractors were being passed, those of students are being stopped.
Youth wing president Jillapalli Anji said that the scholarships were not paid for the past three years under the previous BRS regime and for 11 months by the incumbent government.
Former MP and BC leader R. Krishnaiah addressing the rally said, “The students have been hitting the roads for the past four months but the government is not paying heed to the demands being raised. We requested the college managements who stopped classes for four days seeking payment of scholarships to open them as the students were losing out.”
