Telangana to have dedicated committee to promote tourism

Hyderabad:The government is set to establish introduce a dedicated committee to promote tourism by facilitating visits to the state's cultural, heritage, and historical sites for both domestic and international tourists.

Tourism minister Jupally Krishna Rao announced plans on Friday at the Travernia Fest held at Hitex, Madhapur. The festival was organised to provide comprehensive information to travel enthusiasts about global tourist destinations, heritage sites, local lifestyles, cuisines, cultures, and traditions.

"We are implementing several schemes to ensure that tourists, as well as visitors attending national and international conferences, meetings, and official events in Telangana, have the opportunity to explore our state’s tourist destinations," the minister said.

The event was attended by UN tourism ambassador Carl Joshua, historian Dr Sinharaja Tammita, Travernia Fest founder Dr Anthony Vipin Das, as well as representatives from the transportation and travel industries.
