Telangana: Transform Thorrur Into a Model Municipality, Says MLA Yashaswini

Warangal: The BRS government had neglected municipalities in the Palakurthi Assembly segment, though it was represented by then minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao, Congress legislator Yasheswini Mamidala alleged on Thursday.

The Congress, within six months of coming to power, had undertaken several initiatives not only in Palakurthy but across the state she told a general body meeting of Thorrur municipality in Mahbubabad district.

Yashaswini said that elected representatives work in coordination with officials of various departments to transform Thorrur into a model municipality for which the government had sanctioned `62 crore for developmental work.

Thorrur town is developing and there is a need to expand it, she said and asked officials to prepare a master plan for the civic body and send a proposal to the state government to appoint regular staff.

Municipal vice-chairman G Surendar Reddy, executive engineer Ranjith, councilors Ramu, Roja, Sangitha, Yamuna, Sunitha, Gajanand, Revathi and Naga Jyothi were present at the meeting.
