Panicked, people called their family members and relatives and shared their experience of the earthquake.
It is said that many people experienced tremors for a few seconds in Chennur, Jaipur, Ramnagar and Naspur colonies in Mancherial town and in Karnamamidi in Hazipur areas in Mancherial and Kautala, Chaithalamanepalli and Bejjur in Komaram Bheem Asifabad district.
Sirisha of Chennur said she was sacred of utensils suddenly falling from racks while she was preparing food for her children.
Local people said the tremors were felt by villagers along the river
Godavari from both Telangana and Maharashtra sides.
People felt tremors in Sironcha, Aheri and Bhamragadh in Gadchiroli district in Maharashtra. Some women and men came out of their homes after
experiencing tremors for two to three seconds.
Women in Chennur felt that the tremors might be due to the opencast coal mines and complained that these mines caused huge pollution in their
localities. There are opencast coal mines along the river Godavari in
Mancherial and Bhoopalapalli districts.
People had felt tremors in Boath area in 2019, in Komaram Bheem Asifabad district in 2020 and in Utnoor and Adilabad areas in 2022. However, the impact of these earthquakes was very low.
