HYDERABAD: The Telangana State Pollution Control Board (TGPCB) organised a workshop on creating eco-friendly clay idols of Lord Ganesha at Government High School, Tulsinagar, Amberpet, on Thursday. Students enthusiastically participated in the workshop, making clay idols. Project officer K. Sattaiah encouraged the students to make clay idols for Ganesh Chaturthi and immerse them back into retention tanks.

He said idols made of plaster of Paris can harm aquatic life and pollute water bodies, while clay is environmentally safe. Sattaiah also urged students to compost the flowers and herbs used in pooja, avoiding the disposal of non-biodegradable materials into clean water bodies.
