TGPCB, HYDRAA plan to rejuvenate lakes across TG
Hyderabad:Telangana Pollution Control Board (TGPCB) officials and the Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) discussed the protection and rejuvenation of lakes in the state. The session was chaired by HYDRA commissioner A.V. Ranganath and TGPCB Member Secretary G. Ravi.
G. Ravi emphasised the importance of regulating industrial effluents and sewage, ensuring they are properly treated before discharge to prevent lake pollution. He highlighted that stopping the dumping of construction waste on lake banks is crucial for effective cleaning and restoration.
Commissioner Ranganath announced a joint initiative to continuously monitor water quality and combat illegal dumping by fining offenders and seizing vehicles used for waste disposal. The officials also plan to collaborate with schools, research groups, and environmental organisations to engage the community in lake conservation efforts.
