TGSPDCL CMD reviews preparedness for Bonalu festival

Hyderabad: In view of Bonalu Festival to be held from July 7 to August 8, the Southern Power Distribution Company of Telangana Ltd. (TGSPDCL) is making all necessary arrangements to ensure quality and reliable power supply, said CMD Musharraf Faruqui.
At a review meeting held at Corporate Office with all Chief Engineers and Superintending Engineers here on Friday, the CMD directed the officials to complete the arrangements for the festival before July 2, 2024. All concerned CEs/ SEs should visit and inspect the temples and their premises prior to the festival days for ensuring 24x7 supply, he said.

He asked the officials to co-ordinate with R&B Department, temple committees and ensure that DTRs and network would cater seamlessly to load including the additional temporary lights, air conditioning, Sound System etc. which are installed at the temples during Bonalu.
The officers and staff allotted for duty round-the-clock right from start to completion of the festival to maintain uninterrupted power supply and to ensure public safety. Alternate supplies are to be arranged wherever required and ensure that the field staff is having adequate materials and T&P for meeting all eventualities, he said.
All the poles particularly on main roads, lanes and by-lanes where there might be large gathering of people should be checked for pole shocks and there should not be any leakages of electricity. The tong tester readings of all the distribution transformers at all important locations should be taken every hour during the festive period and record should be maintained. Any abnormality should be corrected immediately, he said.
