Hyderabad:  The Telangana State Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) results for 2024 were released on Wednesday. A total of 57,725 candidates qualified in Paper I, making them eligible to teach classes I to V, whereas 51,443 passed Paper II, for teaching positions from classes VI to VIII.

The test is crucial for teacher recruitment in Telangana, as the score holds substantial weightage in the District Selection Committee (DSC) exams. Specifically, 80 per cent weightage is given to the recruitment test, while the TET score contributes 20 per cent.

The results this time are particularly noteworthy due to the government’s announcement of a fee waiver for qualified candidates when applying for the DSC exam, making it financially easier for them to pursue teaching positions, with the next steps now involving the DSC exams.

The TS TET qualifying certificates for appointment will remain valid for life, unless otherwise notified by the state government. The permanent validity is so that candidates can use their certification at any point in the future without worrying about expiration dates.

The examination, conducted online from May 20 to June 2 was attended by 2,36,487 candidates. Candidates can check their scores on the official website https://tstet2024.aptonline.in
