Traffic Restrictions Imposed for Secunderabad Kite Festival

Hyderabad: In view of International Kite and Sweet Festival at Parade Ground, Secunderabad, from Monday till January 15, traffic restrictions have been imposed on roads near the venue. The restrictions will be imposed on a need-to bases.

Traffic congestion can be expected on the Begumpet-Secunderabad road and roads surrounding Parade Ground, The road between Tivoli and Plaza crossroads will be closed.

Parade Ground Gate No. 1 and East Gate will be allocated for the entry of the General public.

Passengers heading for the Secunderabad railway station and Jubilee Bus Station were requested to start early, and, were possible, use the Metro Rail service.

Traffic from Rotary crossroads towards SBH would be diverted at YMCA towards Clock Tower. Traffic from Rasoolpura towards Plaza would be diverted at CTO crossroads towards Balamrai.

Traffic from Picket towards SBH and Tivoli would be diverted at Sweekar Upkar towards YMCA. Traffic from NCC towards Plaza would be diverted at Tivoli towards Brooke Bond.

Parking arrangements for those attending the kite festival were made at Parade Ground East and West gates, Cantonment Playground, Gymkhana Ground and Bison polo Ground

Commuters were asked to follow the traffic police handles on social media —facebook.com/HYDTP and @HYDP on X — and call help line 9010203626 for assistance.

The traffic police provided the following list of junctions to be avoided, where possible: Alugadda Bavi; Sangeet; YMCA; Patnyl SBH; Plaza; CTO; Brooke Bond; Tivoli; Sweekar Upkar; Secunderabad Club; Tadbund; Centre Point; Diamond Point; Bowenpally ; Rasoolpura, Begumpet and Paradise.
