Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy commended Christian missionaries for their contributions to education and healthcare, emphasising their role in making quality services accessible to the underprivileged. Speaking on Wednesday at the "Thanksgiving Meeting" held at LB Stadium, organised by Dr P. Satish Kumar, founder of Calvary Temple, the CM highlighted the efforts made by Christian missionaries in education and healthcare. He also recalled former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy's introduction of the Aarogyasri scheme, which ensured the free medical care for economically disadvantaged individuals.

The event celebrated Satish Kumar’s 35 years of service to society. Revanth Reddy has praised Satish Kumar’s efforts, stating that his teachings have inspired moral and social improvement within the community. Addressing a major social issue, the CM encouraged Satish Kumar to leverage his influence as a faith leader to spread awareness on curbing drug and ganja abuse, assuring that the state government is taking rigorous measures to address the problem.

Revanth Reddy also emphasised the state’s commitment to religious harmony, underscoring that there is no place for discrimination in Telangana. The government, he assured, is actively working to maintain peace and prevent communal tensions across the state. Reflecting on his government’s broader social mission, the CM spoke about reaching all sections of society with welfare schemes and called on citizens to continue their support for the government, which he referred to as the "Indiramma government" in tribute to former prime minister Indira Gandhi’s legacy of social welfare.

The Chief Minister voiced concerns about the survival of democracy in India, commending Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Yatra, a campaign aimed at preserving democratic values. Revanth Reddy expressed his belief in Rahul Gandhi’s potential as a future prime minister, urging people to support his efforts to uphold democratic principles in India.
