Hyderabad: Police arrested two persons on robbery charges within the Balanagar police station limits, said Balanagar ACP G. Hanumantha Rao here on Thursday.
The accused have been identified as Shaik Sameer aka Haider, 22, a native of Karnataka and staying at Jeedimetla. He was working as a plumber. The other one Mohammed Hussain, 19, a resident of Golconda. The robbing incident was known when Batchu Satish, 48, a resident of Balanagar, lodged a complaint with the police.
On December 5, at around 12.15 am, when Satish was heading home from office, one of the accused Hussain intercepted his bike near the main gate of Usha Company in Balanagar. Satish fell off the bike and Hussain took his vehicle and sped away from the spot. Then another accused Haider arrived at the scene on a two-wheeler and pretended that he was helping the victim.
As Hussain fled the spot with the victim’s bike and parked the vehicle at some distance from the crime scene. He again came back at the spot where Satish had fallen down from the bike. The duo then took him (Satish) to the place where they had parked his bike, and threatened to hand over his mobile phones, cash, and gold. When Satish resisted, he was assaulted by Hussain and Haider. The duo robbed him of gold chain weighing around 20.630 grams and two mobile phones.
After filing of the complaint by the victim, the Balanagar police scanned the CCTV footage. The police scanned over 50 cameras along the route and also analysed CDRs, which led to the arrest of the duo.
