Karimnagar: After conducting a vigilance inquiry, the executive officer of the Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy temple K. Vinod Reddy issued orders suspending two contract employees here in Vemulawada of Rajanna Sircilla district on Monday. The EO suspended a contract employee Madhu and surrendered Srinivas to the respective agency.
It is to be noted here that in April, the endowment department officials had taken action against 12 employees who were facing allegations of corruption. They had issued notices to some of the employees, stopped increments to three AEOs and imposed penalties of Rs 1.88 lakh on a supervisor, Rs 80,000 on a junior assistant of the Laddu Prasadam department and Rs 21,000 on a godown supervisor, who looks after the requirements of daily essentials.
Three days back, the Anti Corruption Bureau and the Legal Metrology officials conducted raids at the temple in the wake of complaints received on various irregularities in different departments of the temple. The officials collected the details of the financial transactions of the past few years, the details of the commodities used in temple rituals and samples of food materials used for prasadams and other items. They have also checked the records of various departments and submitted a report to the state government.
