 Nalgonda: A 20-year-old student, whose family was reportedly unable to fund his studies in Germany, made a video call to his sister to tell her that he was going to die by suicide, and sent her location.

The family immediately informed the Nalgonda Rural police. By the time the police reached the spot, the student had died by suicide, Nalgonda Rural police.

Police said the victim, Koradala Shivamani, had discontinued his BSc (Agricuture) cource at a college at Hyderabad, and wanted to join a nursing course in Germany.

He had enrolled with the government-run Telangana Overseas Manpower Company (Tomcom) for facilitation in training in the German language and selecting colleges abroad. Tomcom officials said the process including training and accommodation in Germany would cost Rs 3.5 lakh.

Shivamani’s father K. Shanker, an autorickshaw driver, he tried to borrow the money but failed.

According to the police, Shivamani went to his house in Chandanapally from Hyderabad about three days back. He left the house on Friday morning. At 3 pm, he made a video call to his sister Jhansi at 3 pm and informed her that he would die by suicide and shared the location.

Nalgonda railway police shifted the body of the victim to the Government General Hospital mortuary for autopsy and began an investigation.
