UoH professor joins IGNOU Planning Board as Member

Hyderabad: Prof. V. Venkata Ramana, an academic from the University of Hyderabad (UoH), has been appointed member of the Planning Board of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) for a three-year term.

The board is tasked with devising and overseeing the institution’s programmes and initiatives. Membership is reserved for individuals recognised for their expertise and exceptional contributions to higher education.

Prof. Venkata Ramana, with the UoH School of Management Studies, has served as dean before taking on leadership positions, including as vice-chairman of the Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TGCHE) and as in-charge Vice Chancellor of the Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies (RGUKT), Basar, for over two years. He recently rejoined UoH following the completion of his term. He has also served with the SBH and IIFCL and his expertise has been sought on University Grants Commission (UGC) and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) committees. He was also an expert member of a defence ministry committee.
