Will remove Rajiv statue, KTR reiterates
Hyderabad: The controversy over the government plans to install a statue in front of the Secretariat complex of former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi was back in the news on Wednesday with BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao again declaring that once his party is back in power, the Rajiv Gandhi statue will be removed and replaced by one of Telangana Talli. Rama Rao’s reiteration of his previous stand on the issue was made in a tweet, the same day on which Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy laid the foundation stone for installing a Telangana Talli statue inside the Secretariat complex. When the BRS objected to the plan for the Rajiv Gandhi statue opposite the Secretariat saying the spot was reserved for Telangana Talli statue, the Chief Minister had responded that the government will install the Telangana Talli statue inside the Secretariat itself.
