With HYDRAA Bullish, Complaints Pour in Against Illegal Encroachments
Adilabad:With Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Monitoring and Protection (HYDRAA) going ballistic on demolition of illegal structures, complaints are pouring in through social media to remove illegal structures in Nirmal and Adilabad districts.
A five-story building was demolished in Naspur municipality, and municipal officials claimed it was illegally constructed in the Mancherial district on September 19.
The Naspur civic authorities found that a TBGKS leader D. Annaiah illegally constructed a five-floor building on government land in survey no 42 while taking permission for construction in survey number 40.
The Naspur municipal commissioner Satish said the owner of the building has not responded to their notices since 2022 and they issued a notice 15 days ago also but the BRS leader did not respond.
Satish said they have identified a few more illegal buildings in the civic body’s limits and they will demolish them soon. The municipal authorities demolished the building with police security and took the building owner's family members into custody when they tried to obstruct the demolition.
Many people lodge complaints with the authorities seeking action against political leaders and others for land grabbing and encroaching on government lands and tanks, especially in Nirmal and Adilabad districts.
In Adilabad municipality, Khanapur tank was encroached on and houses were constructed.
There were nearly 11 tanks popularly known as Golusukattu Cheruvulu in and around Nirmal town. Many tanks were encroached upon as Nirmal town expanded over the years and houses and commercial complexes were constructed violating the MTL and buffer zones of the tanks.
It is said that encroachment of tanks is one of the major reasons for the frequent floods inundating the low-lying areas in Nirmal and the low-lying areas in MTL on the outskirts of Nirmal town. The popular Dharmasagar Cheruvu was encroached upon and houses were constructed.
