Warangal: In a shocking incident, a woman leader of the Patient Care Department of the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Hospital thrashed a co-worker by tying her with chains in front of the public for not giving mamools to her here in Hanamkonda on Monday.

The video of the woman leader thrashing her co-worker posted on social media went viral in the district. According to the source, the woman leader identified as Alakuntla Rajamma was acting as a president to the women workers working in the patient care unit of the hospital. Using her influence, she allotted a job to one Suma Latha and collected mamools from her every month.

Last month onwards, Suma Latha refused to give mamools to Rajamma. Every time Suma Latha faced Rajamma, she used to warn her and demand mamools, like all other co-workers. On Monday afternoon, Rajamma caught hold of Suma Latha at the hospital premises, tied her with a chain and thrashed her. People who visited the hospital, including the security personnel, watched Rajamma thrashing Suma Latha but no one dared to stop her.

After a few minutes, Rajamma left Suma Latha after giving her a warning to pay her money the next day. Suma Latha and her family members complained to the Mattewada police station against Rajamma. The police registered the case against Rajamma and started an investigation.
