Women told to set up own business units under IMS

WARANGAL: The Indira Mahila Shakti (IMS) programme has set out to achieve economic sustainability and empowerment of women living in rural areas, said the district rural and development officer Sheshadri.

Women of Racharla Gollapalli village of Yellareddypet mandal in Rajanna Sircilla district established SRK milk and dairy parlour under the Indira Mahila Shakti programme.
After learning that women are running the dairy shop successfully, officials of the DRDA department accompanied by DRDO Sheshadri inspected the dairy parlour and appreciated the women.
Speaking on the occasion, Sheshadri said the state government is taking a number of steps for the welfare of women. To provide economic sustainability to women, especially to those living in rural areas, the government launched the Indira Mahila Shakti programme.
For launching new business units, the government will sanction loans through self help groups to members of women societies. By availing the opportunity provided by the government, women living in various villages in the district should start their own businesses and must grow economically, he appealed.
Additional DRDO Srinivas, district panchayat officer Padmaiah, APM Mallesham, CC Mangya Naik and VOA Manasa were present along with others.
