Actor-politician Kamal Haasan delivered a pointed commentary on the Indian political system during the trailer launch for his Indian 2 on Tuesday. Addressing the media, Kamal said the prevalent corruption in the general political scenario of the country had driven the film’s narrative. “I thank Indian politics for giving us the fuel to make such films. I feel corruption is so rampant even today, making the return of the vigilant ‘Indian Thatha’ (Kamal Haasan’s character) through Indian 2 even more meaningful,” he said.

He also revealed that filming for Indian 3 has been completed.

Kamal acknowledged Udhayanidhi Stalin’s involvement in the project, saying, “As a big fan of the film Indian, its actor (Kamal himself) and director (Shankar), Udhaya-nidhi has come forward to involve himself in the project. I thank him for that.”He added, “He should be seen as an example of someone who puts in their utmost best.

Even I cannot do so beyond a certain point; Anirudh has exerted every possible effort to infuse life into the film.”
