Apple is reportedly planning to release an iOS 18.2 update with more Apple Intelligence features next month.
According to a report by MacRumors, Apple may release the next update with AI features on December 9. Usually, Apple rolls out software updates on Mondays and the rumoured release date falls on Monday.
The tech giant is planning to release iOS 18.2 on December 9 based on a recent notice from British carrier EE, which was provided to its customers.
EE said that an iPhone feature known as "Wi-Fi calling on other supported iCloud-connected devices" will be discontinued on December 9. This feature lets users make Wi-Fi calls on iPad and Mac when their iPhone is not nearby.
The iOS 18.2 developer beat 2 was released last week and it came with new EE carrier settings and it removed the "Add Wi-Fi Calling For Other Devices" toggle from the Wi-Fi Calling section on iPhones which are used by EE customers.
Carrier settings updates are mostly bundled with iOS updates and EE carrier may have indirectly revealed that iOS 18.2 will be released on December 9. However, the date may not be confirmed but the possibility is high that it will be released on that date.
Apple has already confirmed that iOS 18.2 will be released in December and it includes additional Apple Intelligence features. It will be available for iPhone 15 Pro models and iPhone 16 series lineup which includes Genmoji, Image Playground and ChatGPT integration.
