Chinese tech company Baidu is set to unveil glasses with built-in AI assistant, setting up a competition with Ray-Bans Meta smart glasses.

According to a Bloomberg report, Baidu is planning to unveil the product at its annual event set to take place in Shanghai next week. The smart glasses are set to have built-in cameras to capture photos and videos and will support voice interactions, said the Bloomberg report quoting a source.
China-based Baidu's smart glasses will connect products such as Baidu Maps and also its online encyclopedia. The smart glasses, developed by its hardware division Xiaodu, is expected to cost less than Meta's $299 and the sales may start in early 2025.
Apart from Baidu, few Chinese companies have already introduced AI cameras with cameras and open-ear audio.
Smart glasses have gained popularity and it is on the rise in the tech sphere. Meta and Ray-Ban launched the second generation of smart glasses last month. It comes with a 12MP ultra-wide camera with five mic system and open-ear speakers. To compete with Meta, Apple is planning to bring out its own smart glasses and as per reports, the tech giant is planning to unveil it in 2027.
