Huawei may offer Tizen smartwatch in the near future
Tizen is an operating system based on the Linux kernel and the GNU C library implementing the Linux API.
The Tizen operating system has been confined to Samsung devices up till now. However, it seems like Huawei is planning on entering this segment.
According to reports originating from Korean newspaper JoongAnd Ilbo, Huawei is considering offering a smartwatch powered by the Tizen operating system. This would make sense especially given how Google’s Android Wear 2.0 has been postponed to 2017.
“Tizen Experts went on to say that Huawei was one of the initial partners of the Tizen Association and is now considering working with Samsung, which has released several devices with the OS. However, there is no indication if the shift to using Tizen will see all future smartwatches from Huawei running on it or just one or two devices, such as the Huawei Watch 2,” reported Tech Times.
