Mattel's Aristotle is a voice-assistant speaker made specifically for kids.
One can observe an increasing number of young consumers of technology in the market these days. During times like these, it is essential that their experience is made safe and appropriate. In a similar effort, Toymaker Mattel announced the Aristotle by Nabi, a $299 voice-controlled smart baby monitor at the CES event.
The company with the help of Microsoft and Qualcomm uses artificial intelligence, natural language interactions and Internet of Things technologies to create a cloud-connected platform for kids.
Aristotle features a Bluetooth and Wi-Fi Direct speaker with multi-coloured LED lights, and Wi-Fi camera with object recognition. “The company is employing 256-bit encryption through the cloud, and complying with COPPA, the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act, which aims to protect the privacy of children under 13,” reported The Next Web.
The product is reportedly compatible with all products built around the Samsung Smart Things, Philips Hue, Wink, ZigBee and Amazon ecosystems. The device is not expected to hit the shelves until June.
