Apple released its MacOS Sierra – the first version of Apple’s computer software that supported the Siri voice assistant and Apple Pay earlier last month. Now the company is reportedly planning on introducing new versions of their latest Mac laptops at an event on October 27.

According to a report published by Recode, the Mac launch event is expected to take place at or somewhere around the company’s Cupertino campus, the same place where they held the iPhone 7 announcement event.

This news adds to the rumor that has been surfacing the internet for some time now. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities first suggested back in June that Apple is preparing a ‘thinner and lighter’ version of MacBook Pro.

‘The device will have a new ‘thinner and lighter’ design with design cues taken from the 12-inch MacBook, as well as Touch ID support and a new OLED display touch bar above the keyboard,’ 9to5mac reported. The new version will also reportedly feature USB-C support and Thunderbolt 3.

Earlier last month, Apple released MacOS Sierra which apart from bringing support for Siri voice assistant and Apple Pay also added a range of other improvements to Photos and Messages. The free update let users transfer data between iOS and Mac.

However, Apple hasn’t officially confirmed the reports of the Mac launch event yet.
