Mi Band 3 with full gesture-based touchscreen display launched for Rs 1,999
The Mi Band 3 also gets more functionalities and a bigger battery than before.
After launching it in the Chinese market a few years ago, Xiaomi has finally unveiled the Mi Band 3 for the Indian market. It comes as the successor to the Mi Band 2 and will be available for a price of Rs 1,999. The first sale will take place on Mi.com on September 28.
The Mi Band 3 is a major upgrade when compared to the Mi Band 2 and Mi Band HRX edition. The new model gets a bigger 0.78-inch OLED full touchscreen display with a control button at the bottom. The design of the band has been improved as well, with curved edges on the tracker. Xiaomi claims that the display can now show full messages from WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook Messenger and other supported apps. The band also gets gesture-based controls as well.
The Mi Band 3 now also display weather forecasts in advance up to 3 days. When it comes to fitness tracking, the Mi Band 3 can track steps, calories, distance and battery levels. The Band 3 will work in conjunction with the Mi Fit app for sleep tracking and several other exercise tracking features. Similar to the Mi Band 2, it will also track heart rate, but the new model offers more options for tracking frequency. The Mi Band 3 is also water resistant up to 50m.
Xiaomi will sell the Mi Band 3 in three colour bands — black, blue and orange. Keep a tab for a full review within the next few days.
