Quantum Hi-Tech QHM 855 review: All-purpose headphones
The headset covers the full audio range from 20 Hz to 20 KHz.
Quantum Hi-Tech, the Delhi-based peripherals player has brought out a good-value pair of headphones that will serve equally well for gaming and music listening. Comfort is all important in over-the-ears headsets, and the QHM 855 excels in this department with a soft headband and chunky cushioned ear covers that even without active noise cancelling, block out much of the unwanted ambient noise.
The headset covers the full audio range from 20 Hz to 20 KHz and there is good bass boost for the lower frequencies. Gold plated 3.5 mm jacks provide connectivity via a 2-metre cable, which usefully also offers a parallel termination by way of a USB jack. The volume control is in line with the cable.
The noise filtering microphone can be angled to pick up the user's sound, excluding eternal noise. When the USB jack is plugged in, a red LED display lights up on the sides of the headphone — only others can enjoy it, not the wearer!
For Rs 960, this is a very good buy for both music lovers and casual gamers.
