Microsoft ends Windows 7 and Windows 8 sale
With the end of Windows 7 and Windows 8, Microsoft is trying to boost Windows 10.
The Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 sale has come to end. The software maker Windows has announced the End of Sale of its popular Windows 7 and Windows 8 operating system.
Microsoft confirmed the End of Sales for both the Windows version on its Windows lifecycle page, explaining the term End of sales which refers to the date when a particular version of Windows is no longer shipped to retailers or Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), including Dell and Toshiba whose PCs often comes preinstalled with Windows software.
Microsoft stopped selling Windows 7 after seven years of it availability and Windows 8.1 after four years. Sale for PCs preinstalled with Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 ended on October 31, 2016.
It is a sign. With the end of Windows 7 and Windows 8, Microsoft is trying to boost Windows 10.
There are about 300 million devices running Window 10, a combination of older PCs, new PCs sold last year and smartphones. And Microsoft expects a billion devices to run on Windows 10 in the next couple of years.
