WhatsApp's end-to-end encryption relies on a set of keys that verify whether the sender and the receiver are, who they claim to be. But the receiver's encryption key will change if the app is re-installed, the handset is replaced or there is a change of mobile number.

The popular social messaging app, WhatsApp has rolled out two new features. A technology website called Teknepolis unveiled that the newest beta version of WhatsApp for Android has two major updates. The features may not introduce massive changes but will surely make instant messaging easier and faster.

According to the reports, the latest package 2.17.375 takes up less space when downloading and installing. The other major update is that when you change your number in WhatsApp, your contacts would receive notification of the update. The feature would work every time you change your phone number. Users can even customise which contacts — all or with which they have chats — would see that they have changed numbers.

Prior to this WhatsApp had rolled out a feature — a new storage management section into its Setting menu on Android, offering users a glimpse of a detailed break-up of an amount of space consumed by chats, including media contents like images, videos and GIFs.
