Airtel and Jio have listed some 100 handset models each on their websites that are VoW-Fi-ready

Hard on each other's heels, Airtel and Reliance Jio have brought yet another cost-saving convenience to their Indian customers. It is called Voice over Wi-Fi (VoWi-Fi) and lets you save on your cellular phone usage by harnessing a home, office or public Wi-Fi hotspot to make voice or video calls. This is a neat extension of the way our phones today, seamlessy latch on to available Wi-Fi networks to connect to the Internet, conserving our data usage.

The small caveat is that only recent handsets enable this way of making calls. So you need to go to the settings of your phone and check if there is a 'WiFi calling' option. If yes, select it and you are good to go. Airtel and Jio have listed some 100 handset models each on their websites that are VoW-Fi-ready, but this number will keep rising till almost every phone is compatible.
