In hopes of getting more users to sign up, they recently initiated another campaign wherein they offered the users with the privilege of getting their accounts the exclusive ‘blue tick’ that only the most popular personalities enjoyed.
How to get the ‘blue tick’ for your account?
Users are required to prove that they are who they say using a verified phone number and confirmed email address. You can simply go to ‘settings’ by selecting the cog icon on your profile and verify your email address and phone number.
It is essential that users set their accounts to ‘public’ in order to be verified. This can be done by deselecting the ‘protect my tweets’ option under the settings section.
Other few aspects that are required to be included in your profile are: short biography, header, profile photos, birth date and relevant website address. You can add this information by going to your Twitter profile and selecting ‘Edit profile.’
The company could also ask would – be verified users to upload a scan of a government – issued ID, such as a passport or driver’s license.
Twitter will essentially notify its users via email whether their request has been successful or not. You have the option of reapplying within 30 days if you fail at the first attempt.
