Apple removes its own product ratings from website
Archived versions of the webpage show that the change was captured between November 16 and November 17.
Cupertino based company Apple Inc recently removed all its “Ratings and Reviews” tab from all of its website listings. The change was observed in the US, UK and Australia.
Archived versions of the webpage show that the change was captured between November 16 and November 17. The seemingly intentional move, came just two days after the brand launched the new 16-inch Macbook Pro.
User reviews and testimonials offered new buyers more insight into the product they are considering purchasing, often providing key details, pseudo-features or even shortcomings that companies miss out on. Removing the whole section from the website doesn’t speak well at all.
Apple likely took the ratings down to stop hate-spewing reviews The brand has often faced poor criticism from ‘Apple Haters’. We think the move will likely be temporary, and the section should be up again soon.
