Uber, Snapchat partner to let you set people as destination

Popular ride-hailing app Uber has introduced a new feature that will now allow users to mark their friends as destinations. The company in collaboration with Snapchat hopes to keep users engaged with its app during their journey. Uber says Snapchat will receive information about the ETA, vehicle type and destination (no private data) in order to create special filters for riders.
Thus, instead of typing a location in the ‘Where to?’ box, users can now type the name of the friend they are meeting and the app will automatically route the ride to them. Moreover, in order to keep the riders entertained, Uber will prompt the users to send a Snapchat to the waiting party. Users can make use of custom filters that can relay estimated time of arrival.
Uber also said that it will not continue to track the location of the friend (marked as destination) after the ride ends. The original record static location would automatically expire after 30 minutes. The ride-hailing company says it will not be sharing any personal information of the rider or the friend with Snapchat.
