The new update is still in the alpha development stage for the moment, meaning the company is still refining and adding new features to the app.

Microsoft has officially released a new version of Skype for Linux. The latest update includes a range of improvements in the previously existing features alongside new additions especially integrated to make the user experience more convenient.

Users will now be able to mute notifications for specific conversations and even disable emoticons. Support for system HTTPS proxy and /me command have also been integrated with the latest version.

However, the biggest improvement is the addition of a dark theme. Users can activate the dark theme from the Settings option.

This is not all as Microsoft is expected to introduce more options in the near-future updates.
