Go Live' with your game on FB
Gamers can live stream any battle.net game now.
Facebook is taking on Twitch and trying to get gamers to stream any battle.net game onto their profiles and public pages. The partnership between Facebook and Blizzard gives players streaming options and a webcam overlay with output to their Facebook profiles or any associated page.
To get started all you need to do is update your battle.net client and once it’s online look for the camera icon on the top right corner. Once you’ve connected your FB and battle.net accounts, it’s fairly simple in terms of deciding webcam position, enabling the microphone and so on. The great thing about FB Live is that it only supports 720p streaming with reasonable bitrates, making it easier for gamers with poor Internet connections and for viewers to watch as well This will probably encourage more pro players to stream directly onto Facebook a lot more often than just standard Facebook Living now and then; not to mention regular players showing off a new skin or crazy play.
With FB aggressively pushing Facebook Live by finally enabling it for public profiles, it was only a matter of time before we saw something like this to help market the feature. While this won’t dent Twitch’s audience, it will certainly push battle.net players to stream onto their Facebook profiles increasing Facebook Live usage and reach.
