Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 17 series lineup this September, which will feature the standard as well as the Pro models.

Rumours have been circulating about the iPhone 17 series, and a new rumour suggests that the iPhone 17 Pro models - 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max - will have an upgraded 48MP Tetraprism camera. Notably, the entire rear camera system will feature 48MP lenses.
According to Weibo account Digital Chat Station, the iPhone 17 Pro models will feature 1/1.3" 48MP main camera, 48MP Ultra-wide lens and 48MP Tetraprism telephoto lens. Both the main and telephoto cameras are said to be use GP glass-plastic lenses. Meanwhile, 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max will feature a 24MP front camera.

Today’s rumour corroborates the claims made by two Apple analysts last year. Ming-Chi Kuo had suggested that the iPhone 17 Pro Max would feature a 48-megapixel Tetraprism camera, but he wasn’t certain if it would be exclusive to the Pro Max model. However, today’s rumour indicates that both the Pro models will indeed have a 48MP Tetraprism camera. Additionally, Jeff Pu had mentioned that at least one iPhone 17 model will have a 24MP front camera.
Apart from its features, there were rumours circulating about the camera setup of the iPhone 17 Pro models. An image surfaced on Weibo, suggesting that the Pro models will have a horizontal camera setup.
Additionally, The Information reported that the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max will feature a rectangular camera setup made of aluminum instead of the traditional 3D glass.
Furthermore, the image revealed that the iPhone 17 Pro might have an aluminum frame. The back of the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max could have a half-aluminum and half-glass design. The bottom half will be made of glass to support wireless charging.
Apple is reportedly planning to reintroduce aluminum frames to the entire iPhone 17 lineup. The tech giant used aluminum frames for the standard models like the iPhone 16 and the lower-end iPhone SE. Until the iPhone 14 Pro models, the company used stainless steel frames and introduced a titanium chassis for the iPhone 15 and 16 flagship models.
Apple is set to unveil the iPhone 17 series lineup, comprising four models. Notably, the rumoured iPhone 17 Air is poised to replace the iPhone 17 Plus model.
