Hyderabad: Tesla CEO Elon Musk on Tuesday has put the internet on fire, after threatening Apple with a ban at his companies if the tech company integrates OpenAI at the Operating System level.
Musk with a series of tweets lashed out at Apple and called the move "an unacceptable security violation." The billionaire also said that even visitors with Apple phones have to check their devices at the door.
Questioning Apple's latest announcement, Musk wrote, "It’s patently absurd that Apple isn’t smart enough to make their own AI, yet is somehow capable of ensuring that OpenAI will protect your security & privacy! Apple has no clue what’s actually going on once they hand your data over to OpenAI. They’re selling you down the river."
Following the outburst, 'X' users and tech enthusiasts are speculating that there will soon be a Tesla phone or 'X phone'.
Earlier, Musk said that he will give up his phone number and use the Call and message feature on 'X' for communication.
The speculations on a new phone from one of Musk's companies have long been there, it all started when Musk replying to a tweet said, "if there is no other choice, I will make an alternate phone" in 2022 but the recent development had only given a boost to it.
However, Elon Musk on a live-stream on Sunday dusted off these speculations and said that they are 'not doing a phone'. Putting an end to the rumors, Musk said the company will focus on its current businesses including EV vehicles and Space.
