Sony will reportedly announce its first-ever bezel-less smartphone at the IFA 2017 slated to be held in early September in Berlin.

According to a post shared on social media platform Weibo, the upcoming Sony’s bezel-less smartphone will have a 6-inch screen and an aspect ratio of 18:9, which is presently sported by Galaxy S8 and LG G6 models. The post also claims that Sony would be using Japan Display Inc’s (JDI), a conglomerate of the display division of Toshiba, Hitachi and Sony, new ‘Full Active LCD’ display technology to feature a bezel-less design.

JDI had earlier confirmed that it has started mass production of its Full Active QHD display.  If the information posted is to be believed, then Sony would be the first tech giant, in the conglomerate, to use the technology in its next-generation smartphone.

However, Sony has not made any revelation on its upcoming smartphone or on featuring a bezel-less display.
