Oculus updates VR app after battery drain issues
Owners of Samsung smartphone, such as the S6, S6 Edge, S7 and S7 Edge are among those users who are experiencing the issue.
Samsung’s Gear VR headset will kill your smartphone battery more than you would have thought. The use of Gear VR headset, which is used to experience virtual reality, is reportedly causing smartphones to shed battery at a faster rate.
Joshawa7, a user, posted on Oculus forum complaining, “Even on a charger was losing 1% batt every 30 seconds.”
Following which, Oculus on September 30 rolled out an update to prevent phone’s from battery drainage.
Owners of Samsung smartphone, such as the S6, S6 Edge, S7 and S7 Edge are among those users who are experiencing the issue, reported Gizmodo.
Oculus is aware of the issue and is prompting people to update the Oculus app. “In case users haven’t seen the prompt, the phone has been automatically updated and no further action is needed,” Oculus told Gizmodo in a statement.
