Huawei Mate X launch pushed back, again!
Huawei Mate X is expected to launch before the end of the year with its September launch being pushed back.
The Huawei Mate X release has been pushed back once more and now a report by TechRadar claims that it may not come out before November 2019. Previously, the first foldable smartphone from Huawei was expected to launch in September after its initial delay earlier on this year. With the possibility of a November launch being on the cards, this gives the Samsung Galaxy Fold the chance to be the first device of its type being released. However, Huawei is confident that Mate X will launch before the end of the year.
Apart from the delayed launch, TechRadar has also learned that the next Mate X could come with more screens and may launch as soon as next year. This new unnamed foldable handset will be a technological breakthrough as it will swap out the steel rear cover that’s seen on the Mate X with a glass surface that could be used as a touchable display.
This will be difficult to achieve, to say the least, and it would require Huawei to overcome any engineering challenges that may come their way. It may take years for any company to iron out all the kinks in order to get foldable smartphones with glass rears. This feature isn’t even available on the 8-inch front display of the Mate X yet.
The Huawei Mate X launch date is likely being pushed back to November and not later than that as the company wants to launch it in time for the holiday shopping window “before the Chinese Spring Festival in early 2020.”
