Xiaomi launches Mi 8 Youth Edition and Mi 8 Screen Fingerprint Edition

Xiaomi has launched its Mi 8 Youth Edition and the Mi 8 Screen Fingerprint Edition in China. The Mi 8 Youth Edition is a toned-down version of Mi 8 and is powered by a Snapdragon 660 chipset and is backed by a 3350mAh battery with support for Qualcomm's Quick Charge 3.0.
The Youth Edition features a 6.26-inch notched LCD panel with a 19:9 aspect ratio. On the photography front, the smartphone packs a 12MP+5MP dual rear camera setup, accompanied with AI capabilities and dual phase detection autofocus. There is a 24MP Sony IMX576 sensor for shooting selfies with AI capabilities. The phone comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and is equipped with a face unlock.
The Mi 8 Screen Fingerprint Edition, on the other hand, embraces a 6.21-inch Samsung AMOLED FHD+ display. It runs on a Snapdragon 845 chipset coupled with Adreno 630 GPU. It is kept alive by a 3000mAh battery with support for fast charging. Optics wise, the handset has an AI-based dual rear camera setup, including a 12MP wide-angle lens with a f/1.8 aperture and a 12MP telephoto lens with a f/2.4 aperture. For selfies, there is a 20MP with AI Portrait mode.
Coming to the price, the Mi 8 Youth Edition costs CNY 1,399 (approx Rs 14,800) for the 4GB/64GB variant and CNY 1,699 (around Rs 18,000) for the 6GB/64GB configuration and CNY 1,999 (approx Rs 21,200) for the 6GB/128GB. The Mi 8 Screen Fingerprint Edition, on the other hand, costs CNY 3,199 (around Rs 34,000) for the 6GB/128GB configuration and CNY 3,599 (approx Rs 38,200) for the 8GB/128GB variant.
