Four Indian students develop an app for online therapy
The application is available on web and for Android users, and will soon be available for iOS users.
Mumbai: There are about 40 million people in India alone who are suffering from emotional and psychological discomforts like depression, anxiety, panic attacks et al. However, the social stigma around psychological disorders in our country, keeps these people from approaching a professional help.
Perceiving the massive healthcare issue, four BITS Pilani students came together to bring about a change. Vaibhav, Anurag, Chetan and Shashvat worked to reinvent the traditional practitioner-client relationship, by founding an on-demand telemedicine app called Visit.
The app offers users an opportunity to virtually visit a therapist over video within 30 minutes of requesting it. After the Visit a user can follow up with their practitioner for up to 7 days, using the application’s secured encrypted chat service. Visit puts the therapist in your pocket, literally!
The application is available on web and for Android users, and will soon be available for iOS users.
